Before you start
You need the Unit Management role for the unit you want to manage. If Unit Management does not appear in your Roles list, contact the appropriate FalconNet administrator or your chain of command before continuing.
Use this process when one or several cadets need the same unit assignment settings. You can select multiple cadets at one time, so you do not need to repeat the form for each person.
1. Open Unit Management
From the FalconNet home screen, find Roles and select Unit Management for the organization you are authorized to manage. If more than one Unit Management role is listed, verify the unit abbreviation beneath the role before opening it.
2. Open the member assignment form
On the unit page, scroll to Unit Members. Select the plus (+) button immediately to the right of the Unit Members heading. The member assignment form will open.
3. Set the assignment details
Confirm Unit shows the organization the cadets should join. Change it before continuing if it is incorrect.
Set Assignment Start to Now for an immediate assignment, or choose the appropriate future date. A future-dated assignment appears as upcoming and FalconNet automatically applies it when the start date arrives.
Set Assignment End to the date the assignment should stop. Choose the appropriate date or available period, such as a semester end, based on how long the cadets should remain assigned.
Choose Gets Accounted For deliberately. Turn it on when this unit should own accountability for the selected cadets. Leave it off when the unit association should not change who accounts for them.
Future assignments do not need to be applied manually later. They remain upcoming until the selected start date, then become active automatically.
4. Choose events and add cadets
If Special Events are available, select only the events that should apply to these cadets. A check mark means the event is selected. Leave an event unselected when the assignment should not include it.
Use the search control to find a cadet by name or available identifier.
Select the correct cadet from the results. The cadet will appear under Users to Add.
Search again and select additional cadets as needed. Everyone listed under Users to Add receives the same unit, dates, accountability setting, and selected events.
If you select the wrong person, use the red delete icon beside that name before submitting.
5. Review and finish
Verify the unit is correct.
Verify Assignment Start and Assignment End are correct for every selected cadet.
Confirm Gets Accounted For is on or off as intended.
Confirm only the applicable special events are selected.
Confirm all intended cadets—and no unintended cadets—appear under Users to Add.
Use the form's confirmation control to create the assignments. Immediate assignments take effect after submission. Future-dated assignments appear as upcoming and activate automatically on their start date.
Before confirming a multi-cadet assignment, review the settings carefully. The same configuration is applied to every cadet listed under Users to Add.
